A look at the new year

A new year is almost here and the old comes to a close.  It’s the time of the year that many of us start to make their lists of things to do (or do better) in the next year.

For me, on the Commodore front, I’ll continue to expand the MOS6502-blog and bring you the articles of strange Commodore features, hardware and other stuff that you probably never knew existed or did know, but never really looked at it from a different perspective.  For this, you can expect more in the “Strange peripherals…” series.

On the Commodore scene, I’ll be looking out to see if this year Commodore USA can get the new Commodore computer out on the market.  The latest press releases look promising and it’s nice to see they decided against the initial design (as was used on their Commodore Phoenix) and reworked it to be shipped in the old breadbox casings.

I’m also curious to see how the Commodore Live project will evolve.  The hardware looks robust, the idea is great and I’ll definitely be ordering one as soon as the friends from the Commodore Computer Club start selling and shipping them.

In the new year, I’ll also be visiting Commodore clubs that keep the passion for the old beige beast alive and report from some of the conventions in Europe on all things happening on the Commodore scene (demo, usergroups, music, …)

Last but not least, I’ll be writing a regular series on “Hidden gems” – Commodore computers people have stashed in their attics or are selling at garage sales and see if I can find “the bargain of the year”.

As you can see, lot of things to expect in the new year!

So I wish you all the best for 2011 and if you’re going to a New Year’s Eve party tonight, be sure to put this great track (see the video) on your iPods or have the DJ blast it through the speakers… the best 8bit track I’ve heard up to now and a sure winner to blast into the new year!
